Thank you for the play reminder! Also! So Late in the Day is such a good story. To my mind, it's an example of what I think of as Keegan's more cold-hearted, William Trevorish side.

I've never read any William Trevor but now I'm curious! Yes, she definitely has some dark stories... Antarctica is another one.

What if we make time for play? I like it! Adult play should be so much better than years ago...no need to be a child again, I think. We can be better in touch with what makes us individually happy.

This is true! I think the goal of thinking about childhood pleasures is for those people who have "forgotten" how to play / what makes them happy. Sometimes those things we gravitated toward in childhood continue to thrill us inwardly.
