This is true! I think the goal of thinking about childhood pleasures is for those people who have "forgotten" how to play / what makes them happy. Sometimes those things we gravitated toward in childhood continue to thrill us inwardly.

I've never read any William Trevor but now I'm curious! Yes, she definitely has some dark stories... Antarctica is another one.
